Teen Breathe

Awareness Meditation

Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed for at least 10 minutes. Lie down on the floor.

Place a cushion under your head.

Next, position your palms on your lower belly, resting them there comfortably without tension.

Now close your eyes and breathe deeply and slowly.

Feel your belly move up and down as you breathe in and out.

Focus just on that for a while and, very soon, the chatter in your mind should ease

(it takes lots of practice for it to get even close to stopping).

Once the volume of your thoughts has been turned down, focus your awareness to your other sensations.

Pay attention to each part of your body –

feel the pressure of the floor, the touch of your clothes against your skin and the cushion under your head.

When you feel ready, slowly open your eyes and ease yourself into a sitting position.

How do you feel now?

Well done, you have learned how to relax your
body and quieten your mind – just like that.

Welcome to a calming and
peaceful world.
