2018. Do you have your resolutions ready? They might be to improve your fitness, learn a new skill, study harder. All worthwhile intentions, but sometimes they can give you the feeling you’re not enough yet, that you can be more, do more, get more. Remember that whatever you try to achieve this new year – and whatever the outcome – your best is enough.
One way of working out what changes you really want to make is to find a quiet space where you can spend time alone and get to know yourself a bit better. Solitude gives your mind a chance to refresh, imagine and explore. And hopefully relieve itself from any niggling worries or doubts.
Do you have a place where you can take a few moments to reflect on the people and places that matter most? Could you set aside 10 quiet minutes in your bedroom at the weekend or even half an hour’s blissful indulgence in the bathroom? If you can, you might find there’s comfort and peace in solitude.
